Jean-François Di Meglio has been chairing Asia Centre (www.asiacentre.eu) for close to 15 years after contributing to its establishment in 2005. Asia Centre is an independent research and expertise centre based in Paris with a network of academics, researchers and contributors based in Europe and Asia and coming from different fields, including corporate backgrounds. Before this, JFDM worked in the finance industry for more than 20 years, with bases in Europe, North America and Asia. He is an alumnus of Ecole normale supérieure (Agrégé des Lettres) and of Beijing University. He co-edited two books with Routledge (China and the global financial crisis, 2013, and China's energy security: a multidimensional approach, 2017). He is a regular contributor to French and European media. He acts as the pilot of one of the "working packages" Asia Centre is leading within the frame of a EU contract on China won last November which will last over the next three years. JFDM is a fellow professor at Cheng Chi University in Taiwan, where he spent four months in 2023 and at Sciences po Paris and Dauphine University-PSL.
Les Conférences de la Maison Française is a series of public lectures to be held once per month in person at the French House and on Zoom. The talks will cover a wide variety of topics, including (for example) economics, science, art and literature, technology, Franco-American relations, and the history of French in the Midwest. These lectures will foster the exchange among the French-speaking community on various societal and cultural questions. The talks will be in French or in English according to the choice of the guest speaker.
