When UW-Madison classes are in session, Wednesday dinner and Friday lunch are open to the greater campus community.
Only French is spoken at the French House so you’re guaranteed some great conversation with your meal.
We are first and foremost an educational institution, so even if your French is limited, there’s a space for you.
We welcome people of all levels of French!
On parle français :
All levels of French are welcome, but you must be a French speaker or a student of French to reserve.
Conversation at the French House is in French!
Wednesday dinners: $12 students, $18 others.
All of our meals are served buffet style and usually include a vegetable and rice, potato or pasta. Guests can also look forward to a fresh salad, great French bread, dessert and coffee or tea. We always have a vegetarian option available.

By making a reservation, you acknowledge that French is the language used during meals at the French House, and you commit to doing your best to speak exclusively in French, regardless of your proficiency level.
